Pick an Overlay Preset (12 styles)

The app ships 12 overlay presets to match your stream's vibe — from minimal, glass, and neon, all the way to themed premium styles like 8-Bit, Minecraft, and VTuber Alert.

✦ = Premium preset with a customizable leader icon

What you'll need

  • Stream Community Manager open at Settings → Overlay
  • (For premium presets) an image/GIF for the leader icon, if you want to replace it

  1. Go to Settings → Overlay
  2. The top section is the Preset picker — a grid of 12 thumbnails
  3. Click any thumbnail — the Live Preview on the right updates instantly

Step 2 — Get to know the presets

Minimal / Standard

PresetBest for
Classic BoxClean streams — rectangular box with a clear border, super readable
BannerCommentary / podcast streams — thin bar that doesn't cover gameplay
Profile CardStreams that highlight viewer names — has an avatar slot
PillMinimal streams — small rounded pill

Effect-based

PresetBest for
Frosted GlassBright / lifestyle streams — modern frosted-glass look
Liquid GlassHigh-end streams (iOS 26 refraction effect) — eye-catching but tasteful
Cyberpunk NeonGaming / esports streams — flashing neon lights

Premium ✦

PresetBest for
8-Bit Dialog ✦Retro / pixel-art game streams — NES-style dialog box + Pacman icon
Cozy Garden ✦Chill / craft / cottagecore streams — green tones + bird icon
Minecraft ✦Minecraft streams — blocky boxes + pickaxe icon
Punk Rock ✦Music / rock-vibe streams — hand-drawn graffiti
VTuber Alert ✦VTuber streams — comes with sub-styles A / B / C for different effects

Step 3 — (VTuber only) pick a sub-style

If you choose VTuber Alert, you'll get a sub-option Variant A / B / C — each variant has different entry effects and icon placement.

Click through them and watch the Live Preview before deciding.

Step 4 — (Premium ✦) Upload a custom leader icon

Premium presets have a leader icon slot (the small image next to the box) — and you can swap it:

  1. Scroll to the Custom Message Leader Icon section (only shown for supported presets: 8-Bit, Garden, Minecraft, Punk, VTuber)
  2. Click Upload → pick a PNG / GIF / WebP file
  3. The image replaces the default icon immediately (e.g. swap Pacman for your channel mascot)

:::tip GIFs make the overlay come alive Upload an animated GIF — like Pacman chomping, a bird flapping, a pickaxe swinging. :::

Step 5 — Save

Every preset / variant / icon change is saved automatically — your overlay in OBS updates in real time over Socket.io with no need to refresh the browser source.

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Live Preview not updating: click Pin → Unpin, or refresh the Settings page.
  • Premium preset looks "off" in OBS: make sure your Browser Source width matches the width value in the URL — if it's too wide it gets cropped.
  • Uploaded leader icon doesn't show: check the file is < 5 MB and a supported format (PNG/JPG/GIF/WebP/SVG).
  • Switching presets messes up your font: each preset has a different default font — re-set the font in styling after switching.
